About Wayne E. Hollins

Wayne E. Hollins is a promising young African American poet and author. His poetry reflects on his personal journey through childhood, adulthood, and fatherhood. 

Born June 1974 in Baton Rouge, LA to teenage parents, he is the eldest child of two and a loving father to one. Mr. Hollins graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin then attended the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh for a short period before being incarcerated at the Fox lake Correctional Institution for a 100 year prison sentence.

"Forgive me Lord for the trouble I have caused Bringing my mother’s life to a sudden pause.

O’ gracious Father from the heavens above, Please, give me a second chance to show new Love.

I have been placed in bondage for my crime, Praying your forgiveness and a light to shine..."
